Cat on the Mousepad

Well that whole post was just destroyed! Sammie my cat was just sitting
on the mousepad. It's kind of hard to move your mouse around a big pile
of fur. He just pawed my fleece jacket. He looks around the room, or
down at my fingers skating over the keyboard. Then he stares at me with
his pale blue eyes inside his charcoal grey face and wonders why I don't
want to play with him right now. He looks sort of lonely and forlorn.
Whoops. Where did all those 99999999999999's come from? Animals have a
way of getting to the soft core of your soul. I feel guilty now that I
had to move him off the mousepad after my post disappeared. I have two
cats. The other one is Xena (Zeenie) who is catnapping in the other
room. Sammie has left the computer room and probably gone off to join
Zeenie. I guess he isn't too happy with my choice of the computer over
him. I really do believe that many cats have nine lives. I have been
through enough with both of them to know that firsthand. I wrote an
entry once about poor sick Zeenie in one of my March 2002 entries last
year. I think I have spent as much on cat insurance as I do on my own
health insurance. I once had a cat get sick and die on me. But not
before I had paid in hundreds of dollars. The financial burden was bad
enough. But I also had to deal with the loss and mourning. Anyway I
thought Cat Insurance was the way to go the next time around. The cats
seem to be ok. But their mistress is ill today. My throat is gone; so
its a good thing this is not an audio post. My friend thinks I have
MARS. It's suppose to be a mild form of SARS. I really doubt it. It's
just a cold. I'm taking my cold-ease and tooling around my email today
back and forth with Jonielectric, hopefully, getting my new website
closer to completion. One note about the flaky no-shows for the
Weblogger Meetup for Wednesday the 16th. Just got an e-mail that the
Weblogger Meet-up has been cancelled. (just as well; probably couldn't
go tomorrow anyway.). The interesting thing is that there are about 10
locations throughout SoCal, and ALL of them were cancelled. I heard that
New York and many other cities are much more reliable. This is about the
third one in a row that's been cancelled. I wonder if that means
anything about us L. A. Webloggers? I went to a couple of meetings last
summer in Santa Monica. None of the participants there were flaky at
all. I had a great time . I'm not sure why it hasn't picked up more out
here? Maybe all the flaky webloggy people are moving to L.A.? I must
further delineate the definition of 'faky webloggy' . It excludes of
course all of the webloggers I know! Maybe everyone has a MARS cold like
me? Dennis, I do not think I have MARS!!
