Roxie Dibble at Large

I am spaced at 1:30 a.m.. But, hey, it's April Fools Day. I would have forgotton if I had not cruised by someone's Blog who reminded me what day this was.

Strange thoughts come to me at at this hour of the morning. I should be in bed, considering I have to get this tired body up early tomorrow. I am not blessed with everflowing financial windfalls.

When I was in High School I remember a girl whose name was Roxie Dibble. I was always fascinated by that name for some reason. It seemed so Americanly exotic? Something to trip up your tongue, or maybe a good name to yell across the th hallway to get her attention...a name that kind of hung in the air. In fact I think she ran for some office in her grade or for some Student Body position. Anyway she was a year ahead of me and I didn't really know her. He infamy must have been out there, though, because I do remember her name.

Now that I think of it, I remember her photograh too. It was either for running for President of the Student Body or maybe she was running for Homecoming Queen. I really don't recall. I can't really relay anything photographically descriptive of her. Just that she looked sort of All-American with short blonde hair and a very wide smile. You know, like the 'girl next door'.

I am not sure why her name suddenly popped into my head just before I was about to post. (I really was going to post about something else.) I sometimes wonder why a name or a long past event in my history seems to pop up out of nowhere. However her name is really a trip. It's the kind of name you might take as a 'nom de plume' or perhaps as a stage name.

Roxie Dibble...what a memorable name. Bet you can't forget it now either. Well, Roxie, wherever you are, I hope I haven't sleighted or offended you...but your name is now out in the otherworldly, virtual realities of the Internet. Maybe that's the only fame you ever got...........except for running for Pres in High School........maybe you might consider running for the 'Real' Presidency.

You know, that just about sounds like it might be a good idea. "Roxie Dibble for President". It has a nice ring to it. Hey, your name alone might just destroy the chances for another Bush victory. You just never know.........
