A Penny for Your Thoughts.....

yellowflowers1027_24.JPG

It is, and always has been extremely frustrating for me that I cannot seem to update my Blog on a daily, even twice or thrice weekly basis. Most of the time it isn't really lack of ideas(although that does occur) it is mostly a matter of time. Or really, lack of it.

Almost every morning I wake up with a zillion things going around in my head, not to mention those annoying don't-go-away tunes that just won't stop.(where did the Marseillaise come from, out of nowhere?) Even in my car, while I am driving, a great idea floods my grey matter....but when I get back home, there is always something I have to do, both business and personal.

Occasionally, it happens that I have the time, but all I can think of is 'junk'. I would rather have less posts than an entry I wouldn't want to read myself.

Last week, my Dad was in the Hospital with a very badly infected foot. I went over to see him at home, and he told me that his 'ankle was swollen'. The understatement of the year. When I finally convinced him to see a Doctor, he was advised to go to the hospital ASAP.

There were no rooms available right away, so we had to go to the ER and register through there and wait for a room. We arrived there around 5:30 PM and didn't even get into the ER Room till almost 5 hours later. This was on Martin Luther King Day, last Monday. They informed us that Mondays and Holidays were the worst. They ran some tests and finally started the IV. They told me it might take another couple of hours or so before he could get a room. My Dad convinced me to go home, as he didn't want me out so late.

I went to see him almost every day. The foot, thankfully got better. However he still has sciatica and back pain. It wasn't just pain from the foot. The lower back pain was from a car accident three years ago. Unfortunately he had to cancel his treatment at the Pain Center because of the Foot infection. I thought he was coming out today or tomorrow. However thay are now considering giving him the pain treatment while he is in the Hospital, since the the Pain Center is located near Cedar-Sinai. Why wasn't this done right away?

Hospitals are not the greatest places to visit. Cedar-Sinai is supposed to be the second best Hospital in the country. That doesn't mean you are not going to have problems. I expected certain things to be taken care of that were not. I am very grateful that my Dad wasn't in the ICU. On the way down in the elevator, a very distraught woman was telling a Doctor how badly she was treated and that they lied to her about her Dad.....and that a few things she asked them to do didn't get done. I cannot imagine what it would be like if you were NOT in a good hosptial...Stay healthy if you can. (sorry for the no-brainer--just making a point)

With all that wasted time for being a week in the Hospital, while his foot was getting better, I do not comprehend why he didn't get the pain taken care of immediately. I still don't know when they are coming to care of it. I spoke with the Nurse on the phone this morning, and she said : "M'am, we are going to take care of it as soon as we hear from the Pain Center. I can't do anything. I mean that's why he is in the hospital, for the pain." (??) Ah.... excuse me Miss but he is also there because of his foot, and he has been there for a week..............

I hope he gets out of there soon...............................

2004 and Beyond

vegas006-copy-web.jpg

I hope that 2004 will bring you much happpiness success and good health. I am looking forward to try on my New Year's Resolutions and to make sure that they stay in place this time.

One of the hardest things in life is to set a goal, begin the process, and lastly to make it stick!! Making these good intentions stick is the most difficult of all.

This picture was taken two years ago in Las Vegas at the Bellagio just before New Year's. I asked myself where was I then, and have I done the things that I had laid out for myself to do. Two years, but it seems like ions ago. I had not started my Blog yet. That would come in another 2 months. What blows me away is that I started this Blog on March 2nd of 2002. I can't believe it has almost been two years. March 2nd 2002 was also the day I got married. So I have a two year Anniversary, coming up for both my Wedding and my Blog.

One of my main resolutions for the New Year is to be able to post to this website more regularly, and to finally get my photo gallery up. In March or April, I will be taking a couple of Computer classes to learn more about everything including web design. But a more important part of my New Year's Reslolutions has to do with my work. In other words to time my work days to be as productive as possible and still keep up my Blog.

I have to go visit my Blog friends in the next day or so, because it's been a while since I made any appearances there.

Wishing you all the best for 2004....and Happy Webloggies to you!!!
