When there are many things going on in your life at the same time, it sometimes becomes difficult to focus on running things smoothly. It felt , last week, as though I was running in many different directions at the same time, and accomplishing nothing.
Anyway, a lot of the flurry is gone. I will be moving soon(in October) and I did succeed in taking care of a few items 'on my plate' despite all the turmoil.
One thing gets taken care of and another one rushes in to keep your brain from going on vacation. Many, many Thanks to MLAH for helping me solve my horrendous Spam problem. He emailed me the instructions for installing the Blacklist. As I am no Blog Geek with zero tech knowledge, he literally saved my Blog life. And although Luigi helped me, we still needed the guidance to get it straight. THANK-YOU MLAH.. It has been so appreciated.
A call from the Doctor's Office this afternoon gave me the info about the biopsy for a suspicious 'thing' on my forehead. The results are positive for a skin Cancer. I am not happy. This will be the fifth one. I guess I have to look on the positive side that these Basal Cell Carcinomas are not Melanomas. But to have your Dermatologist tell you that he has to remove collagen in the process, it is not exactly what I wanted to hear. I hope my forehead doesn't drop. You cannot replace Collagen permanently.
The Lemon Tree Bungalow was a place right next to the Vet Clinic, in West Hollywood, where I would take Sammie for his Chemotherapy treatments. I got used to the 30 minute drive once a week, and although Sammie hated going to the Vet, it gave him 5 more months of life.
Inside the Lemon Tree Bugalow were mostly unique and beautiful gifts, imported soaps, designer Olive Oil bottles and irrreverant Greeting cards. I stopped in there one day and met Lyn and her friends from Australia. She was dressed so uniquely and elegantly, she should have been a rep for the Lemon Bungalow. I had just bought my camera and asked her if I could take a couple of pictures of her. I promised her that I would email her and let her know when I would put it on my BLog.
It is now almost September, and that was last May. It just shows you how behind I have been with everything. But I do know that May seems like an eternity ago, and that I no longer have Sammie in my life, and it is just a very sad memory. But at the same time it also reminds me of all the 'good stuff' in my life, as I visited the Lemon Bungalow again to buy some Wedding Presents for my Brother.
Hello to you Lyn.........out in Melbourne!! Sorry it's taken so long! For those of you who are heading out to Melbourne sometime, you can see her at Empire 111 ; A vintage furniture, and vintage paintings, jewelry, chandeliers and dress Shop. Located at:
63 Cardigan Place
Albert Park Vic 3206
(That's in Melbourne, Australia!)
So please say hello to Lyn if you are 'down under'!!...................and oh, don't forget to say Hello to my Friend MLAH who is local, right here in the US.
I've been watching the Olympics, and catching snippets of Pool Speed, Gymnastic Rubber bodies, and some 'Team Sports'.
I was very pleased to see the Iraquis win their first Soccer game at the 2004 Olympics. Considering the Tom Clancy-like way they escaped from their country to travel to Athens. They were secretly airlifted out of Bagdahd with bullet proof vests, no less, with the aid of some Austrailians. Score: Olympians 20. Terrorists: 0.
The Swimming competition has been awesome. Michael Phelps was doing well, but Aussie Ian Thorpe knocked em all down in the freestyle 200M. Fifteen year old American swimmer, Katie Huff(Hoff?) is competing in the Olympics without her immediate fan club. For some reason her parents stayed at home to watch the games on T.V. I really don't understand that. If it was my kid I woulda' been there! I would have gone to the Olympics if my Grandfather was competing!!
I'm not sure if most of you have seen the Sony High Definition T.V. commerical. It's possible it's only been on high def. T. V. reception. If you have High Def, then you would have seen this ad over 100 times by now---no exaggeration. That is basically the only commercial that is aired. It's about a crowd of people who ask if they can watch Sam's T.V. because it's in High Definition. Sam is unsure, but the crowd tells him that they have brought Chips...........and salsa. He then agrees.
We muted the T.V. After a while, it was getting to be torture. For those of you who haven't seen it, be thankful. Anyway this is Luigi's version of that Ad.:
CROWD(500 people): Hey Sam! Hey Sam! (yelling at window from downstairs)
SAM: (sticking head out window) HI guys.
CROWD: Watcha doin' ?
SAM: Having Sex.
Crowd: In High Def.??
Sam: Yes
CROWD: Can we Watch?
Sam: Uh...I don't know.........
CROWD: (one guy holds up his hand ) We brought Hustler ........and Playboy.....
CROWD: (another guy holds up something else) ........and condoms..........
SAM: o.k.
CROWD: everyone cheering and whistling...........
ok. That's my 'off color' for this Goody two Shoes Blog....................
I was out of town for a week. I had a great time.........maybe some text and photos soon.
Then I inherited a super, powerful cold from Luigi. Or maybe it was that strange creep in the elevator who sneezed generously at everyone with no holds barred. Sharing is so wonderful. Who needs a kleenex?!
In any case I have been spending a lot of my time, nuking all those spam Comments. The 'Assassin' is on the way and should be installed shortly. The new plug-in will allow to block all those @##**@@#@$%** caring spammers who hope, one out of a hundred will bite...hey guys, you'll never become a Millionaire that way..............what a waste.
I am also enjoying watching the Summer Olympics, and taking care of my cold.
For the Spammers, I can't think of a better word for you, than what I found on the shelf at the Drug Store..................
