I was at Trader Joe's the other day when two guys walked over to the Frozen Food section, where I was looking for Veggie Burgers. They had on their annoying 'traditiional' American garb consisting of loose, baggy Trousers, and reverse Baseball hats. I'm not sure why they think it's cool. Most heterosexual men want to attract women. So I assume that these men also think that baggy clothes and baseball caps-backwards is also sexy as well as cool.
They started speaking to each other . One guy had a very deep, base voice. I took a better look at him to see if he was some Radio D. J. , or something because his voice was so low. Anyway I also found their conversation annoying. But what I remember most, was the comment, "Where's the chicken , Dude?" I was so-o-o-o tempted to turn around and respond to them by saying, "It's over there stupid!.............By the way, why don't you let your Mommy start dressing you again?!" I suppose that is very sophomoric and juvenile to even think of something like that to say. But remember it comes from a mind that was very annoyed. The only other pet peeve I have about Peoplespeak, is listening to over 21 year old women using the word, 'like' over and over again. Also, a nasty statement that drives me up the wall is, "she all did this", or "They were all like scared...."
Enough of year end annoyance regurgitation. I just think it ironic that the people who find themselves so cool, are the least cool of all.
I am in Arizona for a Compliance Meeting. Why the Company chose Christmas Week to have a Compliance Meeting is beyond me. In any case I want to leave you with a snappy one liner that the male Flight Attendant yelled over the Loud Speaker, while passengers were boarding the Airplane bound for Phoenix, and were moving too slowly to pick out their seats. (This is Southwest Airlines, where no seat reservations are made--first come first served): "Ladies and Gentlemen, all the seats are exactly the same and they are all headed for the same place!" Another priceless gem: "Please put smaller Bags on top of larger ones when placing them in the overhead bin, or they will get smashed. Yes, your Bags will be smaller when we arrive in Phoenix."
Long Time No See. The story of my life.
Well I am mostly moved in. At least my desk is functioning at it's 'full' capacity. The rest of my home may still need some tweeking. There are still boxes to unload. The first week I was here, the kitchen looked like a storage locker. But of course that had to be cleared. You can't 'move on' if you can't find your way around the kitchen to cook and eat.
Southern California has had an over abundance of 'real' rain (as oppposed to drizzles) over the course of the last 2 months. In the semi desert geography, that water is welcome. I love Thunderstorms because you rarely see them here. It's also been unseasonably cold for this part of the country. But again, I really like it. It's the closest thing we Californians can get to real Seasons.
During the day it has gotton down to the mid to high 50's or low 60's. You may be laughing out there, you guys in Minneapolis. But here that's cold. The 'show-off' California chicks don't wear coats though. Even in Winter I guess they want to display their newly shaped bodies( surgury or pumping iron), and you can't go on display being covered with extra garments.
I was out the other day in the mall, freezing my tail off because of a cold wind that that been blowing all day, and I saw many women running around with no jackets. Either they just arrived from Wisconsin and this is Spring to them or they are Californians who just have to display their new boobs. Anyway that's what I think. A little note here to let you know that Nordstrom's in the Mall has run out of most Bra's in the 'C', 'D' and double 'd' sizes. The only sizes in abundance are 'A' and 'B'. And I have noticed that a lot over tha last two years while shopping around different stores.
Maybe that's just here in La La Land, and not in your part of the country. But now you know why I think those women go jacketless. Just a bunch of 'newly formed' show-offs.
